Jill was asking me the other day, "Is crochet easy to pick up? I would like to learn."

SURE!

(The white one on the right is hers.)

Honestly, to go with a motif pattern as a first project is considered very steep learning curve as it certainly does take quite a bit of time. Jill, however was certainly up for the task. Our first crochet lesson took about 3 hours, I think.

Although the original choice was to work the flower motif, she decided that the picot edgings are far too bothersome and so decided that hexagons are good. (Especially seeing my creation.)

Then she went home and got all of the motifs ready, sans the final round.

On the second lesson, Jill learnt to join the motifs as she went about crocheting the final round of each motif.

The final outcome?

A very cool looking scarf! It hung very stylishly on her neck as she demonstrated how she would wear it.

She adores it and let's just say that the quick crochet helps too!

That reminds me:
Christmas is just barely 2 months away...have you started planning your gifts or are you already plugging away on your secret knitting or crochet projects for your friends and loved ones?
