Coming together

Wendy's here today to tackle the armhole seaming and putting finishing touches to the boyfriend sweater.

I showed her how to align the sleeves to the armholes. A few pointers and she was seaming along.

(Just ignore that yellow mini M&Ms pack in the background...
we gals just need to treat ourselves to some chocolates to celebrate this finishing!)
We're all casual around here so sitting on the floor or coming in bermudas are the norm as well.

Voila!

We both really like the pattern as the stripes just sits in nicely along the collar. She's also designed that back should carry on with the stripes so that it remains unbroken.

Simple, yet understated.

Imagine that when Wendy first started, she didn't know anything about knitting or how to handle the needles. In less than 3 months, she has managed to knit up this relatively fine gauge sweater. And right within her deadline too!

It is moments like this that made me realize that coaching others how to knit and crochet is so satisfying.

Now, I can't wait to hear what Wendy's boyfriend got to say about her surprise gift!

Edited to add: Here's a never published photo of Wendy trying out the sweater!
